Boyd County Office of Circuit Court Clerk to temporarily close for move to new judicial center
FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The Boyd County Office of Circuit Court Clerk will be closed the week of May 11-15 for the move to the new Boyd County Judicial Center, according to Boyd County Circuit Court Clerk Linda Kay Baker.
The Office of Circuit Court Clerk, which is currently located in the Boyd County Courthouse at 2800 Louisa St. in Catlettsburg, will be moving to the new facility at 2805 Louisa St. The office will reopen at the new location on Monday, May 18. Business hours are 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Circuit Court Clerk Baker said that driver’s license testing will not be offered the week of May 11-15, but that customers will be able to renew their driver’s license and obtain a duplicate I.D. card the week of May 11-15 at the Ashland Branch, which is located in the Mayo Arcade at 16 Judd Plaza, Room 19. The Ashland Branch business hours are 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:15 a.m.-noon Saturday.
“My staff and I look forward to serving the citizens of Boyd County from our wonderful new judicial center,” said Circuit Court Clerk Baker. “I appreciate the public’s patience with any inconvenience that may result from a temporary closure while we move to the new facility.”

Circuit court clerks have offices in all 120 Kentucky counties and are responsible for managing the records of circuit and district courts. Circuit court clerks are elected officials and they serve six-year terms. The Administrative Office of the Courts supports the activities of 3,800 Kentucky Court of Justice employees, including the elected justices, judges and circuit court clerks.
