FRANKFORT, Ky., Oct. 24, 2005 ¾ The qualifying exam for the 2006 elections for the office of circuit court clerk will be administered by the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC ) on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero St., Frankfort. This is the only date and location for the exam.

 

Circuit court clerks have offices in all 120 Kentucky counties and are responsible for managing the records of Kentucky circuit and district courts. All 120 offices are up for re-election in 2006.

 

Pre-registration, qualifications, study materials and other details about the exam are available at www.kycourts.net. Click on Circuit Court Clerks and then on Circuit Clerk's Exam. The deadline for pre-registration, which is mandatory, is Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005.

 

Individuals who have passed a qualifying exam for a vacant circuit court clerk's appointment between Jan. 1, 2002, and Oct. 1, 2005, and are claiming an exemption from re-testing, should verify their eligibility for candidacy with the ACO prior to the pre-registration deadline.
