Family Division of Jefferson Circuit Court to finalize 38 adoptions Nov. 5 to celebrate National Adoption Month
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Family Division of Jefferson Circuit Court will finalize 38 adoptions Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, to celebrate National Adoption Month. The public and media are invited to attend a 12:15 p.m. news conference and reception for the adoptive families in the Crown Room on the sixth floor of the Jefferson County Judicial Center, 700 W. Jefferson St., Louisville.
The Adoption Day event will underscore that every child deserves a safe, permanent home and celebrate the 27 families adopting 38 children who are now in foster care. In addition to honoring the families, the goals of Adoption Day are to encourage families to adopt or become foster families, build partnerships between the courts and adoption agencies, and highlight the need for post-adoption services.
Reporters interested in more information should contact Jefferson County Family Division Administrator Jim Birmingham at 502-595-4588.
Adoption Day is a collaborative effort between Jefferson Circuit Court/Family Division, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, the Jefferson County Office of the Circuit Court Clerk and the Department of Family and Juvenile Services of the Administrative Office of the Courts.
