New security window installed in Carroll County Circuit Clerk’s Office to increase safety
FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Visitors to the Carroll County Office of Circuit Court Clerk may notice an addition – a security window at the counter that extends from the countertop nearly to the ceiling, separating office personnel and the public. The window was installed today and includes a slot through which to speak and another for passing documents.
“By installing the window, we are being proactive in providing additional security measures for court personnel and our customers,” Carroll County Circuit Court Clerk Laman L. Stark said. “My staff and I enjoy our interactions with the public and want to provide a safe environment in which to conduct court business.”
The Administrative Office of the Courts has facility guidelines that call for all new judicial centers to include a security window for Offices of Circuit Court Clerk. The Carroll County Office of Circuit Court Clerk is in one of the older courthouses the AOC is retrofitting with the glass partitions. As the administrative and fiscal agent for the Judicial Branch, the AOC oversees court facility construction, renovation and maintenance statewide.
The Carroll County Office of Circuit Court Clerk is located in the William L. Wheeler Hall of Justice at 802 Clay St. in Carrollton.
Circuit court clerks have offices in all 120 Kentucky counties and are responsible for managing the records of circuit and district courts and issuing Kentucky driver licenses and identification cards.
The AOC in Frankfort supports the activities of 3,700 court system employees, including the elected offices of justices, judges and circuit court clerks, and executes the Judicial Branch budget.
