- Chief Justice Minton elected to 2nd term as chief justice of Kentucky
Thursday, May 17, 2012 The justices of the Supreme Court of Kentucky have unanimously voted to elect Chief Justice John D. Minton Jr. to a second term as chief justice. The four-year term begins June 27, 2012.

Wednesday, May 16, 2012 Motorcyclists on a national relay in support of drug courts will wheel into Somerset, Lexington and Catlettsburg this week to participate in activities for National Drug Court Month in May.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012 The public is invited to observe as the court hears arguments in cases that originated in Boone, Harlan, Fayette, Franklin, Graves, Jefferson, Lawrence, McCracken, Meade and Pike counties.
- Judicial Branch to shut down for 3 days as part of FY 2013 budget reduction plan
Wednesday, May 02, 2012 Judicial Branch employees learned today that they will be furloughed for three days in the first half of Fiscal Year 2013 as a result of deep cuts the Kentucky General Assembly made to the court system’s budget for Fiscal Years 2013 and 2014.

Monday, April 23, 2012 The Rowan County UNITE Coalition will host its fourth annual Run Away from Drugs 5K Run/Walk Saturday, May 5, at Morehead State University’s Jayne Stadium in Morehead. The run/walk is open to the public and will start at 8:30 a.m. EDT. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. EDT. Proceeds benefit Rowan County UNITE.

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 For the second consecutive year, a Montgomery County High School mock trial team has won the state title in the tournament. The win qualifies the team to compete in the National High School Mock Trial Tournament.

Monday, March 12, 2012 The public and media are invited to observe the competition. The team that wins the championship round Sunday will compete in the National High School Mock Trial Tournament that will take place May 3-6 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Tuesday, March 06, 2012 Chief Justice John D. Minton Jr. and Justice Will T. Scott are visiting the damaged Morgan County Courthouse in West Liberty today. The facility was largely destroyed in the storms.
