For the second year in a row, Osram Sylvania Inc. and the University of Kentucky College of Design will work in partnership to create a showcase using handmade products from exhibitors at Kentucky Crafted: The Market 2006.  Students from the College of Interior Design choose product from selected exhibitors and arrange the artwork in room-like settings.  Says now-graduated student, Anna Lewis, of her experience in last year’s showcase, “It was such an exciting process and provided me with a greater understanding of how my design background can be used to help promote the wonderful talent of artists from Kentucky”.

Brent Eastwood, Halogen Product Marketing Manager for Osram Sylvania, adds, "Osram Sylvania continues to sponsor the Market as part of its corporate commitment to Kentucky.  We feel that our lighting products help visually enhance the creative works of art whether they are displayed at the product showcase, in retail environments, museums or residential settings.  We are also quite proud of the fact that we 'craft' several lighting product technologies within the state of Kentucky."

Visitors can view the Osram Sylvania Designer Showcase and 300 exhibitors of fine traditional, folk and contemporary crafts, two-dimensional visual art, musical recordings, books and food products plus Kentucky cultural entertainment and children’s craft activities at Kentucky Crafted: The Market 2006.  Staff from Osram Sylvania will be available at the Market with information about their lighting products and free light bulb samples for the public.

The Market is produced by the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program, a division of the Kentucky Arts Council, a state agency in the Commerce Cabinet. For more information, call 888-KYCRAFT (592-7238), local (502) 564-3757, or visit our web site at: www.kycraft.ky.gov.
