Kentucky Arts Council seeks teaching artists for directory
FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Arts Council is accepting applications until March 15 for the Teaching Artists Directory, an online, adjudicated index of Kentucky artists who are qualified to conduct residencies in educational settings.
Individual and folk artists who reside in Kentucky and produce high quality artistic work are invited to apply. Applicants must have the skills and competencies needed to work with teachers and students to design and implement arts education programs.
"The arts council requires all schools applying for grant funds to work with artists from the Teaching Artists Directory," said Lori Meadows, executive director of the arts council. "It's an invaluable resource that helps connect the community to qualified artists who share their creative talents through quality programs."
Artists working in any discipline or medium, including visual arts, performing arts, literary arts and folk arts are all eligible. Artists may apply in more than one discipline or medium, but must submit a separate application for each.
