Small and mid-size arts and cultural organizations will have the opportunity to learn how to write grants to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for the Challenge America Community Fast Track Review.  These federally funded grants are intended for projects that extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations- those whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics or disability.

Those attending the workshop are encouraged to come with ideas about potential projects.  Through discussion, potential grantees will learn about eligibility of projects, expected outcomes from the NEA and a step-by-step examination of the application form.

Workshops will be held at the following locations and dates on Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. – 4 p.m., local time:

April 9             Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, 715 W. Main St., Louisville

April 9             Kentucky Dam Village State Park, Gilbertsville

April 16            Covington Community Center, 1650 Russell St., Covington

April 16            Mammoth Cave National Park, Mammoth Cave

April 23            Lexington Downtown Library, 140 E. Main St., Lexington

April 23            Somerset Community College, Somerset

April 23            Jenny Wiley State Park, Prestonsburg

April 30            Morehead State University, Morehead

The fee for the workshop is $10 per person for current Arts Kentucky members and $25 for non-members.  Pre registration and pre-payment are required.  For more information and registration, go to the Arts Kentucky Web site at http://www.artsky.org/arts_ky_workshop_2.htm or call 502-561-0701.
