Kentucky Arts Council presents fine art and craft at Governor's Derby Celebration

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Visitors to the Governor’s Derby Celebration in downtown Frankfort will have an opportunity to purchase some of Kentucky’s finest traditional and contemporary craft and art on the grounds of the Old Capitol from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012.
Artists who have been accepted into the Kentucky Arts Council’s Kentucky Crafted Program will offer jewelry, paintings, pottery, basketry, woodwork, hand-painted photographs, soft sculptures, toys and more.

Earlier this month, Governor Steve Beshear and First Lady Jane Beshear announced that the 76th annual Governor’s Derby Celebration will be held in historic downtown Frankfort for the second year in a row.
