Kentucky Arts Council supports 93 organizations through Kentucky Arts Partnership grants
FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Arts Council has awarded more than $1.7 million to 93 Kentucky nonprofit arts and cultural organizations for FY2011, through the Kentucky Arts Partnership grant program. Kentucky Arts Partnerships are competitive matching grants awarded for operational support to organizations across the state. This public investment in museums, galleries, guilds, performing arts venues, performing groups, local arts councils, and educational and community groups provides Kentuckians opportunities to participate in and enjoy a wide variety of art forms.
“We are very pleased to be able to continue public support for the arts in these very difficult economic times. These organizations lay the foundation for building community, provide arts education experiences and sustain artists in their work,” said Lori Meadows, executive director of the Kentucky Arts Council. “We are thankful to the General Assembly for seeing the need to provide opportunities for people to participate in the arts all across the Commonwealth.”
The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
