Kentucky Arts Council aids professional development of Kentucky artists

FRANKFORT, Ky. –The Kentucky Arts Council has awarded a total of $3,194 in Individual Artist Professional Development grants to seven Kentucky artists for the third quarter of fiscal year 2010.

 

The competitive matching grants of up to $500 have been awarded to: John Atha, Franklin County; Lynnell Edwards, Jefferson County; Lori Larusso, Fayette County; Christina Lovin, Garrard County; Jennifer McLamb, Fayette County; Leslie Nichols, Warren County;  and Yani Vozos, Jefferson County.

 

The Individual Artist Professional Development Program assists Kentucky artists in developing or expanding opportunities or activities that will help them further their professional lives as artists. The grants awarded include funding support for recording a promotional CD for a group of musicians playing a fusion of Appalachian and Latin folk music; the design, production and printing of promotional materials for a craft artist's business; and travel expenses to enable a writer to take advantage of a residency fellowship opportunity.
