Kentucky Arts Council presents the Governor’s Awards in the Arts
On Oct. 20 First Lady Jane Beshear will honor the 2011 recipients of the Governor’s Awards in the Arts on behalf of Gov. Steve Beshear and the Kentucky Arts Council. The presentation of the Commonwealth’s highest honor in the arts will be at 10 a.m. EDT in the Capitol Rotunda. The event is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception on the mezzanine.
The Governor’s Awards in the Arts are presented in nine different categories. The Milner Award was the first established and remains the most prestigious. The 2011 Governor’s Awards in the Arts recipients are:
