FRANKFORT, KY — Gov. Steve Beshear has proclaimed December 2010 as "Give a Gift from Kentucky Month." The Kentucky Arts Council joined First Lady Jane Beshear along with regional artists and state and local officials in kicking off the campaign on Nov. 22 at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea.

"We are very pleased to join this campaign to boost our state's economy and support artists in Kentucky," said Lori Meadows, executive director of the Kentucky Arts Council.

Just in time for the shopping season, the Kentucky Arts Council has developed Kentucky Crafted Gift Ideas, featuring art and handmade items by artists in the Kentucky Crafted program, which can be viewed at http://bit.ly/KAC2010gift.

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
