Kentucky Arts Council selects Lexington poet as featured artist
FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky poet Bianca Spriggs, of Lexington, has been selected as the Kentucky Arts Council's featured artist for June.
Spriggs, the recipient of a 2013 Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship in Poetry, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is well-known in the community through initiatives like The SwallowTale Project and The Lexington Tattoo Project. She is the managing editor for pluck! The Journal of Affrilachian Art & Culture, and the creator and artistic director of the Wild Women of Poetry Slam at the Kentucky Women Writers Conference.
