Arts Council presents visual arts conference

FRANKFORT, Ky. In conjunction with National Arts and Humanities Month, the Kentucky Arts Council will conduct a one-day conference for visual and craft artists on Saturday, Oct. 22. The conference will be 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. EDT in Thoroughbred Room 4, Lexington Convention Center, at the corner of Broadway and High St., Lexington.

 

Morning sessions will focus on artistic identity and keeping work fresh, relevant and visible. Afternoon sessions will explore working with galleries and exhibition venues, meeting the needs of audiences, and applying for the Kentucky Arts Council’s Kentucky Crafted Program.

The Kentucky Arts Council will also present an Arts Education Conference in Eddyville on Oct. 22 and a Performing and Literary Arts Conference in Somerset on Oct. 25.

 

National Arts and Humanities Month, coordinated by Americans for the Arts, encourages Americans to explore new facets of the arts and humanities in their lives and begin a lifelong habit of active participation in the arts and humanities.
