Buyers can still register for Kentucky Crafted: The Market
FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky Crafted: The Market is open Friday, March 1, to buyers and representatives of businesses who want to include the finest art and craft produced in the Commonwealth in their retail collections.
The Kentucky Arts Council's wholesale trade day at The Market gives Kentucky and out-of-state businesses the opportunity to find a high concentration of Kentucky-made products in one location.
Buyers who attend The Market can place wholesale orders directly with any of more than 200 artists who will attend the show, all high-quality producers of art and craft.
"Buyers will see more Kentucky products at The Market than they'll see at any other show," said Lori Meadows, arts council executive director. "Kentucky is known for its top-notch art and craft. If your business has any retail component – large or small – and you'd like to carry Kentucky-made products, you must come to Kentucky Crafted: The Market."
Kentucky artists who exhibit at The Market are all juried participants in the arts council's Kentucky Crafted Program. For 30 years, the nationally recognized show has served as the No. 1 destination for wholesale buyers who are interested in purchasing Kentucky art and craft for resale.
Any business that resells products at retail may register for the exclusive wholesale day. Others who qualify to attend that day include corporate gift buyers, gallery owners, and owners or employees of a business who have the power to initiate purchasing contracts with artists.
Market pre-registration for buyers is open until midnight Feb. 21 at http://artscouncil.ky.gov/KentuckyArt/2013MarketBuyerReg.htm. Buyer registration is free and is also available at the show.
Buyers must bring two forms of business ID to registration the day of the show. Acceptable forms of ID include: federal tax return for the business; a Sales and Use Certificate; and a business card.
