FRANKFORT, Ky.—The Kentucky Arts Council’s partnership with the University of Kentucky School of Design students to provide booth designs for selected first time exhibitors at Kentucky Crafted: The Market was so successful that it seems worth sharing with other Kentucky artists and craftspeople.  Professor Sarah McNabb and design students will give a presentation about the design process used in the designing of interior spaces and how that same process applies to the work of artists.  Students will discuss their projects with the three participating artists of the Kentucky Arts Council’s Kentucky Crafted and Visual Arts at the Market programs with a focus on the analyses of the artists’ work, forming designs for their booths, and the design criteria followed to make the final product.

The Art of Designing Your Booth will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. EDT, April 11, 2008 in Room 216 of the Funkhouser Building on the University of Kentucky campus, Lexington, Ky.  The presentation is free and open to the public. Seating is limited so pre-registration is required. Register on-line at http://artscouncil.ky.gov/forms/BoothDesign_reg.htm. Parking information will be forwarded upon registration. For more information, contact Nancy Atcher
