New Members Appointed to Kentucky Arts Council Board
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Arts Council is please to announce the appointment of two new board members – Jayne Moore Waldrop and Dr. Nicholas Kouns, both of Lexington.
Waldrop was most recently an adjunct instructor at the University of Louisville and was previously an attorney in private practice. She has served as board chair of Stage One Children's Theatre, board member of the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft and on the board of the KET Greater Louisville Regional Advisory Board. Waldrop is also a painter.
Kouns is a practicing physician and managing partner of Winchester Hospital Medicine Associates. He currently serves as president of the Lexington Art League, is a founding board member of the Kentucky Classical Theatre Company and has been dedicated to giving children with special needs access to the arts.
Along with the new appointments, Todd Lowe has been reappointed and will continue to serve as chair. Randall Vaughn was also reappointed. The terms for Waldrop, Kouns, Lowe and Vaughn expire February 1, 2013.

Dean Jones II, Owensboro; Dr. Nicholas Kouns, Lexington; Ed Lane, Lexington; Gail Russell, Louisville; Ann Duggins Schell, Louisville; Randall C. Vaughn, Lexington; James R. Voyles, Louisville; and Jayne Moore Waldrop, Lexington.
The Kentucky Arts Council is a state agency in the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet that creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
