FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Arts Council will visit seven communities in May to introduce opportunities in arts education to teachers, administrators, parents and interested community leaders. These Arts Education Residency Samplers will feature teaching artists who have been selected for the agency's Arts Education Roster. The artists will demonstrate their art form and describe potential residencies available to schools and community groups. A grant writing workshop for Poetry Out Loud and the agency's Teacher Initiated Program will also be available.

Robert Duncan, with the Division of Curriculum Development, Kentucky Department of Education, will address the Arts and Humanities Program Review. "I'm really looking forward to meeting with teachers and administrators across the state to discuss the Program Review. The arts council's residency sampler is a fantastic professional development opportunity," said Duncan.

"We're very pleased to be able to partner with arts organizations and school districts across the state to make the residency samplers possible," said Lori Meadows, executive director of the Kentucky Arts Council. "Without their willingness to offer space and help with publicity, we might not be able to offer these presentations."
