Summer art camps abound in Kentucky
FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Arts Council has compiled an online listing of arts day camps available across Kentucky. The camps, primarily for school age children, are offered by organizations that receive arts partnership funding from the arts council.
The modestly priced camps offer a wide range of arts activities, including singing, dancing, acting, video making, clowning and creating artwork. The listing, with descriptions and registration information, can be found at www.artscouncil.ky.gov/Resources/artcamps10.htm. Camps are located in Ashland, Covington, Frankfort, Harrodsburg, Henderson, Hindman, Lexington, Louisville, Mayfield, Owensboro and Versailles.
"Although we know this is not a complete listing of arts camps in Kentucky, we hope it will be useful as parents plan summer activities for their children," said Arts Council Executive Director Lori Meadows. "Arts organizations receiving funding through the Kentucky Arts Council do an excellent job in educational programming, and we are happy to help connect parents to these summer opportunities for their children."
The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
