| New and emerging cultural and arts organizations as well as new staff of established organizations will have the opportunity to learn about accessibility issues and how to be successful at providing accommodations for these valued audiences. The Access - From the Word Go! workshops will include information on developing accessibility plans, understanding the legal obligations involved in making programs and sites accessible, and creating a welcome and inclusive environment for all arts and cultural events.
The first offering of the workshop will be in Eastern Kentucky from 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. EST, Tuesday, March 15 at the Hazard Community College Fine Arts Center, Hazard, Ky.
The second will be from 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. EST, Friday, March 25 at the Singletary Center for the Arts on the University of Kentucky campus, Lexington, Ky.
The final opportunity to attend this workshop will be at a May date (to be announced), at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts on the campus of Madisonville Community College, Madisonville, Ky.
There is no charge for the workshops, but advance registration is required due to limited space. To register for one of the workshops, please contact Stacy Ridgway at 502-562-0111(V), (502) 562-0140 (TTY) or by email at sridgway@kentuckycenter.org.
