- Governor's Awards in the Arts recognize outstanding achievements and contributions
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 The Kentucky Arts Council announces the 2010 recipients of the Governor's Awards in the Arts, the Commonwealth’s highest honor in the arts. The recipients will be honored by Gov. Steve Beshear at a public ceremony and celebration in October, in the Capitol Rotunda, Frankfort.
- Artists from across the state selected to perform at the Kentucky Experience Pavilion
Monday, August 09, 2010 Guests from around the world will be entertained by some of Kentucky's best performing artists and community and school groups as they visit the Kentucky Experience Pavilion,at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™.The 109 performing artists and groups selected are from all regions of Kentucky and include choral groups, orchestra groups, bands, solo performers, duos and trios, storytellers and theater troupes.
- National Symphony Orchestra American Residencies program offers activities in Kentucky communities and schools
Wednesday, August 04, 2010 Kentucky will host the National Symphony Orchestra's 2011 Residency Feb. 17 – 25, 2011. During the visit, the orchestra will perform major concerts in Louisville, Florence, Owensboro, Paducah, Lexington and Somerset. As part of the residency, members of the orchestra will also participate in more than 100 educational, outreach and performance activities throughout the Commonwealth.

- Kentucky Folklife Program certifies six community scholars
Friday, July 16, 2010 On July 10, 2010, six new community scholars were presented with graduation certificates by the Kentucky Folklife Program for the successful completion of training in fieldwork, documentation, presentation and promotion of community culture, folklife and traditional arts.
- Kentucky Arts Council awards fellowships to writers, choreographers and composers
Friday, July 16, 2010 Ten of Kentucky's professional writers, choreographers and composers will receive Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowships of $7,500 each for their achievements and the high level of excellence and creativity in their work. The Kentucky Arts Council is also awarding Emerging Artist Awards, of $1,000 each, to six artists who have also demonstrated a high level of excellence and creativity, but are in the early stages of their career.

Thursday, May 13, 2010 The Kentucky Arts Council has compiled an online listing of arts day camps available across Kentucky, which can be found at www.artscouncil.ky.gov. The camps are offered by organizations that receive arts partnership funding from the arts council.
- School children painted colorful canvases for Governor’s Derby Celebration
Tuesday, May 11, 2010 In spite of the rains that curtailed the Governor's Derby Celebration, many children across Kentucky managed to capture the Derby spirit. In the weeks before the Derby, they had painted canvases intended to be tablecloths for 50 picnic tables on the Capitol lawn.
