Registration Information Now Available for Governor's Summit on Agriculture
FRANKFORT, Ky. –The Governor’s Summit on Agriculture will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2007 with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the South Wing of the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY. Opening remarks will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by Governor Ernie Fletcher’s Keynote Address at 9:15 a.m. In addition to Governor Fletcher, attendees will have the opportunity to hear two nationally recognized speakers, Ed Barlow and Mark Drabenstott, who will share their perspectives on opportunities for Kentucky Agriculture.
Mr. Barlow, President of Creating the Future, Inc., is dedicated to enhancing an understanding of the future and the influences which will affect personal, professional, organizational, and community settings. Mr. Barlow captivates audiences with his intuitive and well studied perspective. His well organized, thought-provoking, and media-supported presentations affirm his reputation as a top motivational futurist.
Mr. Drabenstott is a seasoned observer of regional development and policy issues whose insights have gained national and international recognition. He grew up on his family’s farm in Markle, Indiana and was named founding director of RUPRI’s National Center for Regional Competitiveness in September 2006. Previously, he spent 25 years in the Federal Reserve System, and let the creation and development of the Center for the Study of Rural America.
Registration for the Governor’s Summit on Agriculture is available online at http://agpolicy.ky.gov and will be mailed to those who have received a “save the date” card. Registration is $35 before March 7. Anyone registering late (after March 7) will be charged $50.
All agricultural leaders and those involved with agriculture across the Commonwealth are invited to attend.
