Kentucky Agricultural Development Board Suspends Premise ID Requirement
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Keith L. Rogers, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Agricultural Policy, announced today the decision made by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board to suspend the Premise ID requirement for producers to be eligible for Model Cost-share Programs.
The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board discussed at its monthly meeting on February 16, the shift in USDA’s policy concerning Premise ID and the National Animal Identification System, since the adoption of the Premise ID requirement on November 17, 2006. In light of those policy changes the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board voted to suspend the Premise ID requirement for 2007.
This action includes all Model Cost-share Programs the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board approved since January 1, 2007. The Board will review this issue again during its fall planning session for 2008.
