Gene Snyder Freeway Enforcement A Success
Frankfort, KY - Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE) Officers issued more than 240 citations and made multiple arrests in a recent two-week highway enforcement blitz of the Gene Snyder Freeway in Jefferson County.
In an effort to catch speeders and make the Gene Snyder Freeway safer, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officers have provided special patrols over the past two weeks. Eight KVE officers were placed on the recent detail, which led to 141 speeding tickets issued with an average speed of 15-20 miles over the posted speed limit of 65 mph. Additional citations were handed out for no proof of insurance, expired registration and seatbelt violations. A total of four arrests were made for additional charges.
"Due to numerous complaints about speeding, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement was happy to provide assistance to local law enforcement authorities," said KVE Capt. John Edmonson of the agency's Louisville regional office. "You can't have a freeway that is too dangerous to drive on."
