Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Takes First Place in Special Olympic Plane Pull
(Lexington, KY) Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE) recently participated in the second annual Lexington Plane Pull hosted by the Special Olympics of the Bluegrass, the Aviation Museum of Kentucky and Blue Grass Airport.
In last years events, participants warmed up by pulling fire truck generously provided by the Lexington and Blue Grass Airport Fire Departments. This year, teams of 20 took turns seeing who could pull a 170,000-pound Boeing cargo plane 12 feet in the shortest time. Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement’s team was comprised of sworn officers from across Kentucky who volunteered their time to participate in the event.
At the end of the day, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement was awarded first place in the men’s division for a 12 foot pull in just 5.5 seconds. KVE also raised approximately $3,000 that will go to the Special Olympics.
"Our team feels very privileged to be here today," said Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Commissioner Greg Howard. "This event helped raise a great deal of money for Special Olympics and everyone who participated should feel very good about what they have done."
Winners as well as the top fundraising individuals will be honored on billboards around town courtesy of Lamar Outdoor advertising.
