Officer Landry Collett recieving an award from Commissioner Greg Howard and Deputy Secretary of the Justice Cleve Gambill FRANKFORT, KY- Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE) Officer Landry Collett has received a national award for his efforts to reduce drinking and driving on Kentucky roadways.

Officer Collett will be presented with the award at this year’s Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) national conference in Washington, DC. Through the generosity of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 23 officers from across the nation have been awarded a scholarship to attend this year’s MADD National Conference. MADD's mission is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. MADD’s state and local volunteers nominated Officer Collett as an exemplary officer in DUI enforcement.

Officer Collett was also the recent recipient of Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement’s annual DUI Award. With over 347 arrests for impaired driving in 2004, Officer Collett was the leading officer in DUI arrests for the state of Kentucky.

“Officer Collett is a dedicated professional with a commitment to safety,” said KVE Commissioner Greg Howard. “It is important to recognize the work Landry has done to help keep our highways safe from impaired drivers.”
