Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Personnel Save a Child’s Life

Officer Ross and Inspector Moore after saving the life of a two year old child.Morehead, Ky - On Thursday, March 2, a truck driver stopped at the KVE weigh station on I-64 at Morehead and informed officers there was an injury accident at the 149 mile marker. 

KVE Lieutenant Chaney, Officer Mike Ross, & Inspector Bill Moore responded to the scene, they located two year old Carlene who had been ejected from the vehicle. 

Inspector Moore discovered that the two year old was unresponsive and not breathing.  Inspector Moore, with the assistance of Officer Ross began CPR on the child and she eventually began breathing on her own. 

Carlene & her mother were both taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital where they were admitted with extensive injuries.  Carlene remains in critical condition but doctors expect the child to make a full recovery. 

Emergency personnel at the hospital indicated that Inspector Moore, & Officer Ross’s response and actions at the scene saved the life of two year old Carlene.
