LEXINGTON, KY (June 1, 2010)  The Kentucky Horse Park announces the return of Family Fun Fest, June 5-6.  The event was created to bring the whole family together for a day of special activities, without having to drive far or spend much money.  This year's event will offer a variety of activities for parents and kids of all ages, and children ages 12 and under will be admitted to Family Fun Fest without charge when accompanied by a paying adult.


Special activities during Family Fun Fest will include stick horse making, games including corn hole and ring toss, coloring contest, prizes, give-a-ways, and plenty more. In addition, local animal shelters will have adoptable pets on hand who are looking for a family to love.  Family Fun Fest is sponsored in part by LM Communications, Arabian Horse World, United States Equestrian Federation, Fayette Mall and ATT The Real Yellow Pages.


Families will especially enjoy the park's Mare & Foal Show, introducing the park’s brand new, adorable babies. 


Also included in the weekend will be the extraordinary A Gift from the Desert: The Art, History and Culture of the Arabian Horse world-exclusive exhibition in the International Museum of the Horse as well as the brand new Saddlebred Showcase interactive exhibit in the American Saddlebred Museum.  The Ohio Valley Stock Dog Trials and the Carriage Round-up will also take place at the park during the weekend.


Trail rides and pony rides will be available both days for an additional fee.

The Kentucky Horse Park is a working horse farm/theme park and equine competition facility dedicated to man’s relationship with the horse.  The park is an agency of the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet that hosted nearly 870,000 visitors and campers, as well as 15,000 competition horses in more than 100 special events and horse shows in 2009.  The park is home to the National Horse Center which comprises more than 30 national and regional equine organizations.   Located at Exit 120, Interstate 75, just north of Lexington, the Kentucky Horse Park is The place to get close to horses.   Open daily March 15 to October 31, and Wednesday through Sunday, November 1 to March 14.
