TWO EQUINE MOVIE STARS TO KENTUCKY HORSE PARK
LEXINGTON, KY (July 25, 2006) This weekend the public is invited to the 17th annual BreyerFest®, July 28-30 at the Kentucky Horse Park to see the equine movie stars from Dreamer and the new Flicka movie, starring Tim McGraw and scheduled for release this fall.
BreyerFest® is the world’s largest model horse festival and horse fair. This year has a fun-filled, summer carnival-themed weekend of live horse presentations by special guest equine stars from Dreamer and Flicka, and also equine extremists Tommie Turvey and Karen Turvey, author and trainer Carole Fletcher and her horse Magnifico, as well as model horse showing, celebrity horses, rare breeds such as the endangered Cleveland Bay, model horse swapping and shopping, pony rides, model hobby activities, social events, petting zoo, dog agility and more. Iron Spring Farms’ Friesian, Goffert and Olympian Belinda Nairn-Wertman will also appear, as will champion Minis Red Cloud and Grand Slam.
Not only does BreyerFest® offer the opportunity to purchase collectible horse models, it helps others at the same time. The raffles, silent auction and live auction offer attendees a chance to collect unique models found only at BreyerFest® and a portion of the proceeds from these activities will be donated to various non-profit organizations benefiting children and animals. This year’s BreyerFest® will benefit the Morris Animal Foundation, North American Riding for the Handicapped, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as Thoroughbred Charities of America.
Tickets for 3 days are $80 for adults, $50 for children ages 7-12, or daily $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 7-12. Children 6 and under are admitted free of charge. All 3-day ticket holders will receive Breyer Celebration Model Horse “Joker.” Single day ticket holders will receive Breyer model “Trixie” with admission. Park Hours and Rates: From March 15-October 31, the park is open seven days a week. Admission is $15 for adults, $8 for children 7-12. Children six and under are always admitted free of charge. Admission includes the American Saddlebred Museum.
