FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 29, 2012) Shelley Putty has joined the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) as the outreach counselor for a 13-county area in western Kentucky.

“I am so blessed to have such an awesome job that allows me to help so many people,” Putty said. “I look forward to serving the residents and schools of western Kentucky for many years to come.”

Putty has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Austin Peay State University, as well as a master’s degree in counseling and an educational specialist degree in guidance and counseling from Murray State University. Before joining KHEAA, she was a family and substance abuse therapist and an eighth-grade science teacher.

She has one daughter, Madelyn, 9.
