GoHigherKY.org expands services
Kentucky high schools with students who plan to play college athletics have one more reason to participate in the transcript exchange system of www.GoHigherKY.org, the state’s one-stop college planning Web site.
The NCAA Eligibility Center is now accepting electronic transcripts sent through the exchange system, which is powered by Xap Corporation.
“Electronic transcripts save time and money, and they simplify the college admissions process for students, parents and counselors,” said Dave Wellman of the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA), the state agency that administers GoHigherKY.org.
“The transcript process is also secure because transcripts are sent directly from the high school to the college and the NCAA. When the student-athlete requests it, the counselor simply chooses the NCAA Eligibility Center from the list of institutions in the Counselor Center of www.GoHigherKY.org,” Wellman said.
The Web site is provided free of charge to Kentuckians by KHEAA, which also administers Kentucky’s financial aid programs, including the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES). KHEAA also provides a wide array of college and career planning services, with outreach counselors visiting every county in the state on a regular basis.
