The Fiscal Year 2009 annual combined report for the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) and The Student Loan People is now online at www.kheaa.com and www.studentloanpeople.com.

KHEAA is the state agency that administers Kentucky’s grant, scholarship and savings programs and guarantees Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) loans. The Student Loan People is the state’s only public, nonprofit student loan provider.

For more than four decades, KHEAA and The Student Loan People have been the Commonwealth’s local partner in helping students pursue higher education,” said Edward J. Cunningham, executive director/CEO of KHEAA and The Student Loan People. “We extend our sincere appreciation to our school and lender partners for their continued support and participation in FFELP.”

Highlights of the report include a summary of the agencies’ outreach programs, comments from Kentuckians who have used the agencies’ services and highlights of the financial operations during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2009. KHEAA disbursed more than $194 million in state aid and guaranteed $1.3 billion in federal student loans. The Student Loan People originated more than $572 million in loans.
