It's Money, Baby

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 2, 2012) — “It’s Money, Baby” is a free booklet available to Kentucky students and teachers to help learn about financial literacy.

The 32-page booklet, provided by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA), includes sections about:

·         Wants vs. needs;

·         Banking;

·         Credit;

·         Insurance; and

·         Identity theft.

 “Learning to responsibly manage money is a critical life skill for everyone” said Susan Hopkins, KHEAA’s director of outreach services. “Our ‘It’s Money, Baby’ financial literacy program is designed to give students of all ages the tools they need to save, spend and borrow wisely.”

Copies of “It’s Money, Baby” may be ordered by e-mailing publications@kheaa.com or by calling (800) 928-8926, ext. 6-7372. Teachers planning to use the booklet in classes may order as many as needed.

KHEAA is the agency that administers state grant, scholarship and savings programs and provides free college and financial aid planning publications to Kentuckians.
