A meet-the-artist reception will be held Sunday, Sept. 30, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea for the center’s exhibition “The Threads That Bind: Textile Works by Kentucky Artisans.” This exhibit features pieces composed of fabric, fiber and/or thread, with significant use of thread or other fiber strands to weave, embellish, construct, shape, quilt or otherwise create the design.

Many of the 21 textile artists whose work is on display will join visitors for the Sept. 30 reception. At 1:30 p.m., a short program will begin in the exhibit gallery with artists present speaking a few minutes about their work and their exhibition piece. Following this program, artists will remain on hand to answer questions and talk further with visitors. Light refreshments will be served throughout the event. This reception is free and open to the public.

The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea is located at 200 Artisan Way, just off Interstate 75 at Berea exit 77. The center’s exhibits, shopping and travel information areas are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the cafe open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.
