On Saturday, December 18, Kentucky writer and jeweler Cindy Lowy will be signing her book “Harmony and Me” along with her father, nationally recognized musician Homer Ledford, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea. Besides authoring her own book, Cindy also illustrated her father’s new book, "See Ya’ Further Up the Creek", designing not only the cover art, but writing one of the selected poems and creating all the illustrations within.

Lowy was born and raised in Winchester, the daughter of Kentucky musician and instrument maker, Homer Ledford. She moved to Louisville in 1981 and after working as a public school art teacher for a number of years, she began creating a colorful line of anodized aluminum jewelry.

Lowy’s book "Harmony and Me," released in 2002, grew out of a spiritual awakening she experienced in 1995. In her book, she offers simple life-changing techniques to help readers relieve stress and live a more peaceful life. Through personal narrative, poetry and art, Lowy weaves a tapestry of faith, hope and “Pearls of Wisdom” for her readers.

“Being happy and fulfilled is not just for a select few. Everyone endures personal heartache and each of us has the ability to handle difficult challenges by tapping into a higher guidance,” says Lowy. Cindy Lowy’s book "Harmony and Me," and her line of jewelry is regularly available at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea.

The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea is located just off Interstate 75 at exit 77 (Berea). The Center’s exhibits, shopping, and travel information areas are all open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the café from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.
