Kentucky National Archery In The Schools Tournament Results
Brianne Gilliam of Elliott County High School scored 294 points and Keith Northcutt of Harrison County High School scored 293 points to win the overall competition at Kentucky’s National Archery in the Schools state tournament held March 23 in Louisville.
More than 2,430 students from 124 schools in Kentucky competed in the tournament. Each competitor shot 15 arrows from 10 meters away and 15 arrows from 15 meters away for a possible 300 points. A bull’s eye is worth 10 points.
All of the top three finishers in the team divisions for elementary, middle and high schools qualify for the national archery tournament in Louisville on May 7 and 8. The top finishers in the individual awards for each division also qualify for the national tournament.
In the cases of ties among top individual archers, a shoot-off was held to determine the top five finishers. A complete list of all archers and their scores may be found online at fw.ky.gov, the Web site of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
