The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights Board of Commissioners will meet Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) at its headquarters located at 332 W. Broadway, the Heyburn Building, Second Floor Conference Room, in Louisville, Ky., 40206. The public is invited to this open meeting.

The Board will rule on 45 discrimination complaints and expects to rule on one conciliation agreement based on retaliation in employment in the city of Owensboro, Ky.

The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights is the state government agency that enforces the Kentucky Civil Rights and U.S. Civil Rights acts. These laws make discrimination illegal. They protect people from discrimination based on the protected classes of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, familial status, and tobacco-smoking status. These are protected with varying stipulations in the areas of employment, public accommodations, housing, and financial transactions.
