85 Children To Go Shopping with KVE Officers Today

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officers and personnel, in conjunction with the KVE Professional Association, will take 85 children shopping Friday December 17 at the Wal-Mart in Clay County.

“Many of us are blessed with so much, but we can’t forget those kids who won’t be having a merry Christmas”, says KVE Officer Brian Jackson, who is also the KVEPA President. “ A lot of people and businesses are pitching in to help out some great kids so they can also have the Christmas spirit. That’s what KVE and the KVE Professional Association are all about.”

The kids will have a pizza party at the Pizza Hut in Manchester, then “parade” to Wal-Mart for the shopping spree. Police cruisers and fire trucks from the Manchester Fire department will escort the children.

“Anything we can do to help a kid have a good time at Christmas is worth it”, says KVE Commissioner Greg Howard. “There is nothing like seeing a child’s eyes light up when they get the present of their dreams.”

KVE Officers and Wal-Mart associates will be on hand to assist the children during their shopping spree. Wal-Mart is providing photos with Santa Claus to all participating children.

The pizza party starts 4 PM, Friday December 17 at the Pizza Hut in Manchester, with the shopping spree to follow at the Clay County Wal-Mart.
