2007 HOMELAND SECURITY CONFERENCE AND 78TH ANNUAL STATE FIRE SCHOOL BEING HELD IN LEXINGTON
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The 2007 Homeland Security Conference and State Fire School will kick off this Thursday, June 7, at the Rupp Arena/Lexington Center complex in downtown Lexington. More than 1,000 firefighters, law enforcement, EMS and emergency management officials are expected to attend the event, which will continue through Sunday evening.
Opening ceremonies for the conference will be held Thursday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Guest speakers will include Governor Fletcher’s Chief of Staff Stan Cave, National Fire Protection Association representative Russ Sanders, state Homeland Security Director Alecia Webb-Edgington, State Fire Marshal Rodney Raby, State Fire Commission Executive Director Ronnie Day, and Kentucky Firefighters Association President Chief Troy Newcomb.
This year’s Conference offers a wide range of training opportunities for all first response disciplines.
Members of the media are encouraged to attend.
