Kentucky Office of Homeland Security Accepting Grant Applications
FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 16, 2010) -- The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security is accepting applications for the FY 2010 State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) funding cycle.
Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 28, 2010, at the homeland security offices located at 200 Mero St. (new Transportation Cabinet Building), Frankfort, KY 40622.
It is important that only one project be identified on each application. City and county governments may submit multiple applications, however they should consider their community’s most critical need when applying for these limited funds.
Eligibility: Local units of government, special districts, area development districts and state universities may apply. Businesses, private schools/universities and non-profits are NOT eligible.
The SHSGP will provide funds for the following investments:
Interoperable Communication: Includes but not limited to portable and mobile radios, mobile data computers, repeater systems, emergency operations/911 center equipment, towers, etc.
Special Team Enhancement: Includes but not limited to search and rescue units, bomb squads, HazMat units, personal protection equipment, emergency medical units, etc.
Community Preparedness: Includes but not limited to local physical security, etc.
KOHS can only provide funding for equipment that is listed on the FEMA Preparedness Grants Authorized Equipment List found at https://www.rkb.us/mel.cfm?subtypeid=549.
