FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 30, 2010) – Gather the kids together and spend Saturday with Santa, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in downtown Frankfort.

Children can have their pictures taken with the jolly old man, enjoy live performances of the Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) Museum Theatre play, “Jack Hunts Christmas,” and decorate their own holiday cookies. Old-fashioned games and traditional holiday music are also part of the mix. The event is free and open to the public. Don’t forget to bring your cameras!

“We partnered with KHS on this event last year and it was a great success,” said Kelly Everman, director of Downtown Frankfort Inc. “The Center for Kentucky History is such a wonderful place for families to enjoy holiday festivities and interesting activities together.”

Families can also explore the Society’s signature exhibition, “A Kentucky Journey,” and the temporary exhibition, “Kentucky Military Treasures.” Tours of the Old State Capitol will also be available.

The Saturday with Santa annual event is sponsored by Whitaker Bank, Downtown Frankfort, Inc. and the KHS Foundation.
