- KHS Artifacts Loaned to Major Lincoln Exhibition
Wednesday, May 08, 2013 The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) will loan Abraham Lincoln’s pocket watch and several other artifacts to a major West Coast exhibition about the Kentucky native. “The Life and Times of Abraham Lincoln” will open at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library in Simi Valley, Calif., on June 1 and run until Sept. 30, 2013.

Tuesday, April 30, 2013 The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) and Kentucky Genealogical Society (KGS) will host a free family history workshop at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in downtown Frankfort. Certified genealogist Pamela Lyons Brinegar will present a two-part workshop on researching women.

- Kentucky Military History Museum Reopens March 9
Thursday, February 28, 2013 After extensive renovations, the Kentucky Military History Museum will reopen to the public Saturday, March 9. The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) and Kentucky Department of Military Affairs (KDMA) will host a free open house reception from 10 a.m. to noon that day, with representatives of each organization on hand to answer questions. The museum will be open for free all day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- KHS Receives Grant to Catalog Churchill Weavers Collection
Wednesday, February 06, 2013 The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) has been selected to receive a $142,700 Cataloging Hidden Special Collections and Archives grant by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). The funds will support the cataloging of an estimated 40,000 textiles in the Churchill Weavers Collection.
