Food For Thought Program to Focus on Bees Author of “Bees in America” to Read, Discuss Work
FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 26, 2010)— Widely recognized bee expert and author Tammy Horn, Ph.D. will read and discuss her newest book, “Bees in America: How the Honey Bee Shaped a Nation,” at noon on Wednesday, June 16 at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in Frankfort. Reservations for the luncheon and discussion are required by Friday, June 11.
Horn serves as director of the Eastern Kentucky Environmental Research Institute and is spearheading an innovative effort to promote beekeeping on mine reclamation sites in eastern Kentucky. A book signing will follow the luncheon.
The luncheon, which is part of the Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) Highlighting History series, is $18 for KHS members and $23 for other patrons. To make a reservation, contact Julia Curry at 502-564-1792, ext. 4414 or Julia.Curry@ky.gov.
