Governor Fletcher Appoints Members to the Kentucky Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed two members to the Kentucky Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists.

Leland Michael Moore, of Alexandria, is the owner of Michael’s College of Hair Design and Mi Salon and Spa in Burlington. He received an associate’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. Moore is a member of The Salon Association, Professional Beauty Association, Intercoiffure, National Cosmetology Association and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. He is married to Idajean Moore.

Tammy R. Rouse is a cosmetology and esthetic instructor at Gateway Community and Technical College. Rouse received her degree in cosmetology from Gateway Community and Technical College.  She is a member of the Look Good Feel Better Program for the American Cancer Society, the Cosmetology Educators of America, the National Cosmetology Association, and is Co-Chair of the Gateway Community and Technical College Advisory Board. She is married to Anthony J. Rouse.

The Kentucky Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists is made up of five gubernatorial appointees.  The board is charged with making periodic inspections of beauty salons and beauty schools in assigned areas; determining whether each individual and business has the required license; following up on complaints regarding those individuals working without licenses; investigating other violations of the law and inspecting premises of salons and schools to determine compliance with sanitary standards and physical requirements as established by the board.
