Governor Fletcher Reappoints Member to Kentucky Board of Tax Appeals
Nancy Mitchell to continue service as chair of board
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has reappointed Nancy R. Mitchell, of Corbin, to the Kentucky Board of Tax Appeals and again designated her as chair.
Mitchell is an accountant and financial specialist in Corbin. She has served on the boards of several community organizations, including Corbin Kiwanis, the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Cumberland Valley Area Development District, Southeastern Kentucky Rehabilitation and the Kentucky Communities Equal Opportunity Council. Mitchell also is a trustee of her alma mater, Union College in Barbourville, where she received a degree in accounting and business administration. She is married to Bob Mitchell.
The Board of Tax Appeals provides an independent, impartial and neutral forum for hearing and resolving disputes on tax issues in a timely, cost-effective alternative to the court system. The board is administratively attached to the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet and is made up of three gubernatorial appointees.
