Governor Fletcher Reappoints Member to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents
Richard Bean to continue service on KCTCS board
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has reappointed Richard A. Bean, of Louisville, to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents.
Bean is a retired banking executive, having served as vice president of BB&T bank and Chase bank. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Kentucky (UK). He is the past president of the national and Louisville UK alumni associations.
Bean was an original member of the KCTCS board and served as chair from 2005-07. He served as an advisory board member of the Jefferson Community and Technical College from 1994-97. Bean is past associate vice president of the state and local Home Builders associations, and was inducted into the Kentucky Builders Hall of Fame in 2004. He is past president of the state and local Mortgage Bankers associations, and is married to Martha Bean.
The KCTCS Board of Regents is made up of eight members appointed by the Governor and six other members, including two members each of the teaching faculty, nonteacher personnel and student body, representing the respective KCTCS community and technical colleges.
