Governor Ernie Fletcher Appoints Judge for 8th Judicial District
John B. Brown, of Bowling Green, accepts appointment
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed John B. Brown, of Bowling Green, as judge for the 8th Judicial District, which consists of Warren County.
“John Brown’s experiences as a commonwealth’s attorney and as a U.S. attorney serve as a tremendous foundation for this judgeship,” said Governor Fletcher. “He will do an outstanding job serving Warren County in this new position.”
“I am very thankful to Governor Fletcher for giving me this opportunity to serve as Warren District Judge,” said Brown. “I am truly looking forward to taking on this new challenge and continuing to serve the people of Warren County.
Brown most recently served as an attorney with Hughes & Coleman, PLC. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Kentucky and a juris doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Brown served as Warren County Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney from 1994-2001 and as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1997-2001. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives. He is married to Marissa A. Brown.
The judgeship was created by the 2006 General Assembly in an effort to reduce caseload backlog. Brown will serve until the seat is filled by general election this November.
