Governor Ernie Fletcher Appoints Member to the Forestry Best Management Practices Board
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed Kevin Lyons, of Tompkinsville, to the Forestry Best Management Practices Board.
Lyons is an agriculture extension agent for the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension. Lyons received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agriculture from Western Kentucky University. He is the director of the Kentucky Association of County Agriculture Agents and is the president of the Monroe County Economic Development Center. Lyons is a member of the Monroe County Farm Bureau and the Monroe County Fair Board. He is married to Regena Lyons.
The Forestry Best Management Practices Board was established in 1998 for the purpose of updating Kentucky's forest practice guidelines for water quality management and the Division of Forestry's administrative regulations regarding timber harvesting operations. The board is made up of 13 members.
