Governor Fletcher Appoints Member to Personnel Board

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed Jackson M. Andrews, of Louisville, to the Personnel Board.

“I am honored to have been nominated, and I’m honored to have been appointed. I will carry out the duties of the job to the best of my ability,” said Andrews.

Andrews has been an attorney in private since 1980 and is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Louisville School of Law. Andrews previously served as chair of the Wage Appeals Board, president and general counsel for Montgomery Wells Co. Inc., chief counsel for the Kentucky Senate, general counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources and an attorney for the Cost of Living Council’s General Counsel’s Office.

He is a former First Lieutenant in the United States Army and a member of the Kentucky, Louisville and District of Columbia Bar Associations. Andrews is married to Matilda Wells Andrews.

The appointment is effective immediately.
